The Caldicott Foundation was established in November 2020 with the twofold aim of investing in capital projects that will transform our site for the next generation as well as supporting talented boys from diverse backgrounds, through scholarships and bursaries.

The Masterplan

The Headmaster’s vision is to invest in building projects that will sensitively reimagine the school. By blending brand new state-of-the-art facilities with the best that our historic school site offers, we are effectively future-proofing Caldicott’s continued success.

It is a privilege to be involved in such an exciting project.

The Hitchin Scholarship

The Hitchin Scholarship is operating under the goal of finding new boys currently in Year 6, who would join Caldicott in Year 7 (5th Form) with strong academic potential and who are ‘all-rounders’.

To qualify for the scholarship, the pupil will need strong academic potential in Maths and English and excellence in at least one of the following optional areas: Sport (a ‘core sport’ of rugby, cricket or football), Music, Art or Drama.

Means-tested bursaries can supplement the scholarship, with a limited number of fully-funded places where there is proven financial need.

Bursaries

There is a small bursarial pot that we hope to grow, which is in place to support existing parents in temporary financial difficulty and to allow for new applications where boys demonstrate significant academic or sporting talent, but where their parents would otherwise be unable to afford full fees. Awards of this kind are means-tested.

Contributing to the Foundation

We welcome donations from our philanthropic parent body and alumni and the Headmaster would be very pleased to chat informally about any aspect of the Foundation. Please make an appointment via Lisa Botwright [email protected]

A generous donation meant we were able to add a state-of-the-art roof to our pool in the Summer of 2020

The Leavers’ Legacy

Parents of leavers will be asked if they wish to donate their initial deposit, instead of it being returned to them as a matter of course at the end of the Summer Term. We are enormously grateful to those Year 8 (6th Form) parents who chose to contribute in this way following the inaugural round of requests in Summer 2020.
