HOW IT ALL WORKS:
There are three separate competitions for Discipline, Academic & Industry:
15, 12, 9, 6 - Discipline & Academic (Work Pluses, on the sheets) - combined total
10, 7, 5, 3 - Effort Grades, just in the Mark Readings
Note that discipline and work are pluses awarded on our computerised system. Industry is Effort Grades (not published on any chart, but just on the Mark Reading), In each Mark Reading Effort is rewarded, and the Gold awards in each year group are read out by the Headmaster in the Mark Reading Assembly.
SPORT: Separate Senior (10, 7, 5, 3) and Junior (5, 3, 2, 1) competitions for Rugby, Hockey and Cricket. To determine the overall winners combine both scores and award the following points : 10, 7, 5, 3
SUMMER TERM: Athletics: Because it is a whole school event, this is awarded 10, 7, 5, 3.
Basketball, Chess and Swimming are awarded 5, 3, 2, 1.
Music Industry is 5, 3, 2, 1, and Bookitch gets 10, 7, 5, 3.
Complete Mark Readings are 10, 7, 5, 3. (5, 3, 2, 1 for a 3rd Mark Reading)
WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?
There is a winning House for each Mark Reading, allocated according to the criteria above (first line).
In the Autumn and summer terms there are three, in the Spring Term two.
When the termly totals are calculated, each complete Mark Reading is awarded points as on the last line above.
In addition, the relevant termly sports are included, and the scores for Music industry and Bookitch added.
