A Photograph Print E-mail
Thursday, 28 February 2008

Well done to B Jang (12.05) for this picture - the best picture of a conversion I have seen - taken yesterday.

conversion
Conversions are vey difficult to photograph. Reduced to the basics, a conversion is just a boy kicking a ball, and generally it could have been done anywhere!

This works because there is  a good foreground, the angle is low, and G Parsons' arm is aligned with the ball. The last aspect, of course, was probably luck, but it is still a good picture!

I hope, a number of photos from yesterday - all by boys - available later today.

A Short Assembly Print E-mail
Thursday, 28 February 2008

Mr Smith took today's Assembly, as the Headmaster has gone to Harrow with our four Scholarship candidates.

Because of this, the awards (Superstars and Highly Commendeds) have been postponed until the next Assembly. As Mr Smith said, he is sure that the boys would rather shake the Headmaster's hand than his!

After the sports' reports, he reminded the boys about the need to keep quiet while the Seniors are in their final day of exams. It was particularly important today, as they are in an exam while the rest of the school is having break!

A Veritable Palace! Print E-mail
Thursday, 28 February 2008

The first small part of the development has been opened. Our Deputy Headmaster, Mr Smith, now has an office. OK, perhaps palace is exaggerating slightly, but it is certainly all that an office should be! Below you can see Mr Smith thoroughly enjoying the opening ceremony. Picture by Mrs Anderson.

Incidentally, the development is moving on apace now - it will really be a fantastic facility.

It's Always Sunny Print E-mail
Monday, 25 February 2008

Strange, isn't it. It is now quite a warm, sunny day, and the poor Sixth Formers are having to sit in the Hall doing their final practice exams before Common Entrance in summer. Never mind - it will all be worth it, I'm sure.

The picture below was taken just as the boys were about to start their Maths exam.
