Drama

bolligrew_gibbs Drama has always been a strength at Caldicott, and there is a history of high quality productions being staged by boys. There is a Senior School Production staged every year, and boys audition for parts in the play. Works produced in recent years include Treasure Island, Lord of the Flies, Witness for the Prosecution, and in Autumn 2007 it was The Thwarting of Baron Bolligrew (picture left).

There is also a Senior School musical presented every three years, and recent examples of this include Dracula Spectacula (correct spelling!) and The Selfish Giant.

There are also Junior School productions which usually contains a musical element; recently we have enjoyed Jack and the Beanstalk and Hoodwinked.

Every boy in the school takes part in the annual ‘Declamations and Public Speaking’ competition. The final is held in the Centenary Hall and is adjudicated by a guest who is often the Head of English at a prominent Public School.
