Who are the Friends of Caldicott and what do they do? THE COMMITTEE - 2007-2008
Chairman - Silja Taylor
Committee Members
Associate Member
The Friends of Caldicott is a voluntary committee of fourteen parents drawn from all years in the school, each of whom serves a two-year tenure. The Chairman of the Committee changes each academic year; this year Silja Taylor has kindly taken on the role. She has a son in the Third Form so she understands the workings of the school! We organise a number of enjoyable functions and events throughout the school year so that parents and guardians can meet socially and, at the same time, help to raise funds for the school. Recent projects funded by the Friends include the purchase of equipment for the school library, IT department, and recreational equipment for the boys amongst others. The past year has also seen the Friends contribute to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Children’s Liver Disease charities. The Friends also assist in the Junior School with reading support at Simon Doggart's request, listening to boys read every week. We help the Art Department each year in the enjoyable task of decorating the school for Christmas. The Friends really do make a difference to the boys' lives at Caldicott! |
