Academic Work at Caldicott

Caldicott has an enviable reputation for its academic results.

This section aims to show this. The menu on the left shows work from each subject, with the specific subject menus changing. Examination results for most years from 1979 are also available.

At Caldicott the class size is small so that individual attention can always be given to the boys. Every one of them is stretched academically at his own level. We believe that boys mature at different ages, so there we give the flexibility to move between sets at the appropriate time.

The curriculum in the Middle and Senior School continues with the same breadth as that for the Juniors, and exceeds the National Curriculum. Latin is started at the beginning of the Middle School, and some boys learn Greek. Study Skills, Current Affairs and educational visits and lectures from outside speakers mean that there is lots of variety. Boys stay for prep sessions, and therefore homework is done at school, so you can enjoy your time at home with your son. The final two years are naturally geared towards Common Entrance or Scholarship examinations to the senior school of their choice.

The Computer Room is open daily until 8pm with secure and monitored broadband internet access available to all. The Design Technology department encourages boys to manufacture in a variety of different materials. Art is very evident when walking around the school. High standards are expected. Each year group visits an important art gallery; therefore Caldicott boys will have been to many major London galleries during their time at the school.
