Mad Hatters' Lunch
THE MAD HATTERS' LUNCH Let the boys tell the story: Today the students of Caldicott School had a Mad Hatterss tea party. We had a special lunch of pizza, fresh-grilled potatoes and beans. The teachers were wearing hats too and pretty much all of the matrons were wearing Santa Klaus hats. Everyone’s hats were either funny or weird. This tea party was very much like the party in the book of Alice in Wonderland. It was a colourful and festive lunch and everyone including the teachers enjoyed it very much. L Pan (10.07) Today was Mad Hatters’ day. It was really fun. Everyone was wearing a wacky hat. I was wearing my old school hat from Kingscote. The funniest hat I think was Oliver’s. It was an Irish hat with a beard and it had three pints of beer on it. It was really cool. I Akhtar The Mad Hatters’ lunch was IMMENSE. We had great pizza, peas and potatoes. I saw very funny hats including Doctor Evil, London Wasps, clown hats and many more. We also had fantastic jam tart. Even the sixth-formers were nice! T Goodinge (10.03) I thought that the Mad Hatters’ lunch was excellent because everyone was banging in to each other because their hats were so big. The food was really tasty and thank you to the staff who had made it. Mr Adams who is my lunch table monitor had a Santa Claus hat on I thought he looked very funny. My best friend Alex was wearing a Goofy Ears hat which was really tall and had big ears. J Lane (10.05) On Mad Hatters' day we had a wonderful lunch – Pizza, potato and peas. Everyone bought in a hat. There was a variety of types from comical to smart. Some of the boys made their own hats. The food was wonderful. We also had Lemon & Lime squash. The mood in the lunch hall was jovial. We all had a very good time and would like to thank the staff who made this possible! One interesting hat was OGT’s in the shape of three Guinness pints! B Coates (10.09) Mad Hatters’ day was arranged by Ma’am Anderson. We had a really good lunch and it was quite amazing to see what everyone had come up with. Some people’s hats were really funny and some were downright silly. I had a good lunch and an amazingly fun day. The only thing that was bad that I really hurt my knee playing rugby! E Rowell (10.03)
3C are working at Creative Writing, based on their class reader (The Wind Singer) with specific references to doorways, secret passages, and so on. In Geography the class has been split into groups to do a Global Location project. They each have to write a fact file on one specific country. A these is "Doorway into Europe," and four countries within Europe will have been looked at closely. |
