A Theme Day - Russian Lunch, 2006. They loved it!

We believe that Caldicott boys should be fed well and that they should be well nourished.

We have award-winning chefs who take great care to ensure that the boys are happy with the food that they are served.

The Head Chef takes great care to ensure that the boys are given a well-balanced menu

Our meals do not contain nuts, and we are working hard to eliminate other additives from the menu

We know and have a good working relationship with our suppliers and much of our food is sourced locally.

We work on a four-weekly menu which is changed four times a year so that we can take advantage of the seasonal food on offer.

Nearly all of our meals are cooked fresh on the premises, with very little ready-made food being brought in

Children and adults sit at the table together for "family service" at lunch times so that we can help to develop each child's social skills. Breakfast is an informal affair and at supper there is a self-service system.

The boys enjoy our themed days, whether celebrating food from countries around the World, historical meals, Hallowe'en and our renowned Christmas parties

We took salt away from the tables long before Jamie Oliver told us to do so!

There is a Food Committee of four senior boys and staff. The boys' names and group photograph is on the catering notice board, outside the dining room and all boys are encouraged to talk about their suggestions for food, either with these boys or with members of staff. Parents or guardians may do the same.
