This was the last Assembly of term, and there were lots of presentations, appointments and awards. First, Mr Smith asked the Headmaster to present some maths certificates or medals.
Karate has been an activity taken this term as part of the games carousel. The following received the Advanced White Belt: G Atkinson, W Blackmore, G Chilvers, F Eglinton, P George, H Kanabar, R Mendis, A Nicol, F Reding-Reuter, G Simpson, E Thayan, L Wright Thanks to Mr Adams for writing this, about the PE lessons the boys have been enjoying this term: In PE this term we have been doing gymnastics. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd for have done sequence work and floor routines, and the older boys have been doing work with apparatus, or vaulting. The most improved gymnast award has gone to one boy in each form. This is for hard work, enthusiasm and rate of progress.
Below is S Sogbesan (1S winner) perfoming something really quite uncomfortable in yesterday's House Party! Then it was congratulations to the Sharks team for winning the Junior Leagues Hockey.
Following on from yesterday, the following boys collected the House cups: Below is a picture of A Spratling with the Winning House Cup, taken straight after the Assembly.
Then the appointments for next term were read out:
The Assembly concluded with a touch of sadness. Mr Elcombe, who has been an excellent 'gap student', is leaving at the end of term. He was presented with his usual 'report' form the staff, a print of Caldicott, and some books to read. He received a fantastc round of applause - and very well-deserved. |
