Every Wednesday afternoon a group of boys go to Snowball Farm Equestrian Centre. They are learning to ride, and they have the opportunity to ride a different horse each Wednesday as this gives them greater overall experience.

Today the boys ‘trotted’ for the first time without the assistance of an Instructor. They also played a game called Round the World: taking their feet out of the stirrups the boys remain seated but turn around in the saddle; at one stage they are sitting in the saddle but facing backwards! The instructors want the boys to feel comfortable and confident in the saddle.

 

At the end of the session the boys gave their horses a well deserved pat and a carrot!
