Game Ratings with Caldicott’s Digital Leaders

24 May 2017

Last week the Video Standards Council visited the Caldicott Digital Leaders to explain exactly how video games receive their age ratings.

The group went through each age rating, known as PEGI, and discussed why games are rated in this particular way and what sort of content is viewed as suitable in each category - violence (realistic vs un-realistic), bad language, adult themes, gambling, horror and drugs.

The boys took all the information on board and really understood the reasons why games are graded.  They are now planning to use this information and present their findings to the rest of the school so their peers can also understand the necessity of age ratings on the games that they play.
