On Saturday 28th January, Mr Lane took Caldicott's basketball team to Wellington College to compete in the IAPS National Basketball Tournament. The team's captain, M Zuanic, describes the outcome: "When the team had beaten Edge Grove, we were all stunned. We had made it to the finals of the National Basketball Tournament. We turned around to see that the team we thought would win (Papplewick) were losing to the hosts (Yateley Manor), a team we scarcely beat in the first few rounds. In the final we all talked about how we were proud and surprised that we had made it to the finals. We were all up for this last match. We got onto the court and from the tip off we knew they were more up for this match. At the beginning I told my friend from Papplewick that I would not let Yateley Manor win two years in a row. When we got our medals, we were all waiting tensely to find out who got the Most Valuable Player award. I could think of three reasons for any of the players from Caldicott to get it. At last he said the words 'the captain of Caldicott'. I was stunned. We had won a trophy and a Most Valuable Player award for the school. We all went home that night with high spirits."
