. Mr Lane then told the boys about the U13 Basketball team who won the IAPS National Basketball Championships last Saturday; a full write-up by the team's captain, M Zuanic, can be found here. Not only were the team crowned the National Basketball Champions but M Zuanic was also declared the winner of the Most Valuable Player award. To celebrate this enormous achievement, the team came up to collect medals and their trophy from Mr Doggart amid resounding applause.
Mr Granville ran through this week's football matches, highlighting some excellent results from the 1st, 2nd and 7th XI, as well as the table tennis matches against Farnham Common Junior School held last Thursday. Full details, including scorers, of this week's sports results can be found here. Mr Doggart praised those who played in the 5th and 6th Form instrumental concert held earlier this week and wished luck to those boys who are trying out for music scholarships this week.
Finally, Mr Smith gave us an insight into this week's school council meeting. A number of sensible suggestions were made, such as better quality footballs at matches, more tennis in the summer and more use of the climbing wall for boarders, which will be implemented straight away. Others, such as a review of the current prep system, will be dealt with later on in the school year. The school council is very successful, with over half of the ideas presented to Mr Doggart being approved and granted over the last few years. Boys are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity.
