| This is the first update on the new website. The boys have been back for about 24 hours, and already the House competition is proving interesting. Here is the score at 2130:

Sumer HAS ycomen in |
|
|
| You may remember the old rhyme, quoted just before the Easter holidays when the uniform (shown in the pictures below) was being purchased.
Sumer is ycomen in, Loude sing cuckou! Groweth seed and bloweth meed, And springth the wode now. Sing cuckou!
Well, on Thursday and Friday we were beginning to think that we would never see the sun again: Friday was particularly wet.
Then, this morning, glorious sunshine, and the prospect for tomorrow even better. Even the computer rooms were relatively empty as the boys enjoyed themselves on the lawns.
 A good break from lessons
Bell gone. Now to lessons ... And yes, Edward IS going the wrong way!

Orvis Country Experience |
|
|
|
Today Mr Cooper took some boys to the Orvis Country experience day at his local fishery, Meon Springs in Hampshire. A good time was had by all, with all the boys catching a fish and Mr Cooper learning to spey cast. Here are what a few of the boys thought of the day.
First we went fishing and everyone caught a trout with an instructor. Mark and I then went and did archery, although it was my first time I managed to hit the bull’s-eye twice. We then tried gun shooting. This was not my first time and I managed to do quite well. There was a small target which they called running deer and if you shot six out of six with a pistol you won a prize, I managed to get five so I did ok. Also we went on a tractor ride and took pictures on Mr Cooper’s camera. We then had a quick snack and went fishing again this time my fish was much bigger and the biggest on the day. I think it was a great day and looking forward to another opportunity to go fishing again later this term.

First we went fishing and everybody caught a trout, a good start. We next split into groups of two and were given some money to spend on the activities. The different activities were fishing, shooting with an air rifle or hand gun, clay pigeon shooting, and archery. After the fishing I did archery and was quite successful. The shooting with an air rifle was really fun because the instructors were very kind and the targets were cool. I did fishing again and caught another fish. Overall it was a really fun day and I enjoyed a lot.

First everyone went fly fishing and within the first ten minutes we had caught some massive trout. Next we were split into groups and were given money to spend on activities. There were four activities including the fishing. Archery was next on my list. Most people chose this activity first and we were all quite successful. Air rifle was another fun activity and again everyone did well. Afterwards we brought a snack before once again returning to the pond to catch some more trout. This time it was much harder, but before too long and after some very hard work everyone had caught yet another trout. We then returned to Mr Cooper for some lunch. After that we set off to come back to school. We all had a very enjoyable day out.
