The picture below was used tonight on The One Show. It is of Andrew Strauss in his Caldicott team photograph, taken when he was Captain of Cricket in 1990. He was the first nominee for BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

This morning the Headmaster was away, so Mr Smith took the Assembly.

AWARDS

After the awards had been presented, Mr Hamilton-Smith and Mr Granville gave the sports' results. Then Mr Summers awarded four Colts' A Colours, to W Heywood (Captain), H Revill (Vice-Captain), A Eglinton and T Wildblood.

Unfortunately the School Council meeting has had to be postponed until next week. After some reminders about making the final days of term successful, and the importance of keeping going to the end, lessons started!

Today, because the weather was so murky and dark, the boys took pictures of each other on their photo activity.

We used a cheap IKEA standard lamp with spotlight, and looked at high-contrast effects.

Here is the best one, of L Betsirovits, taken by H Wakefield (11.06).

The spotlight was so bright that the room, and his jumper, have gone completely black.
