This morning, February began with a light covering of snow, which had fallen overnight. Below are two pictures by L Wright (11.11), and three short descriptions written by the Fourth Form.
 Taken just before Chapel
The overnight snow at Caldicott was not as much as the one in January. I came in on the bus and the roads were fine, it was just the road leading up to the Chiswick flyover. Later the grass was showing and a lot of the snow had melted.
J Awdry (11.01)
Snow fell this morning but luckily it wasn’t as bad as in January. On some roads people's cars were skidding and even when they braked their cars would not stop. As you can see in the picture above Caldicott was also covered by this powdery snow.
A Randev (10.09)
There is heavy snow on the M4, delays from Chiswick up to Slough. Lots of snow, not quite as much as there was in January, but lots of delays. Terrible conditions for people playing rugby and a chance of still more snow later in the week.

Nothing from AGP this time. Just Mr Snyman's comment, and a couple of pictures. Delay in publishing - only just had this.
A while ago we donated some summer uniforms to a school in South Africa. A friend of mine arranged for them to be shipped out there. They were well appreciated and it reinforces how fortunate Caldicott boys are.

Then there were the sports' results. Mr Anderson complimented the Cross Country Team at Haberdashers' on Tuesday. The winning trophy - a rather impressive shield - was presented, and the Headmaster shook the hands of both teams.
Mr Smith reminded the boys of the route to the new boot room, and to say thank-you to the workmen who had built it during the Christmas holiday and over the last few weeks. He reminded them again of the need to name their footwear properly - he thought that at least half of them were not named. Lost property will be diplayed in the next day or two, if it stops raining!
Finally, the Headmaster promoted four more boys to Prefect: A Clayton, C Gallagher, H Kanabar & F Reding-Reuter. Well done to them. |
... but words not needed.
Thanks to Mrs Green for the photos of the Cross Country meeting at Eagle House:

And to Ma'am Riddell for the photo of Wednesday's Aztec Feast:

Then came the award of a Choir Tie to C White (11.01).
 |
WHAT IS A CHOIR TIE?
The blue tie is awarded to Choristers who have fulfilled the requirements of the first level of the Royal School of Church Music ‘Voice for Life’ scheme. Amongst other skills they must be able to sing in tune without accompaniment and understand how to sing the Psalms.
There is also a medal which is awarded with every level of the ‘Voice for Life’ scheme; Light blue, Dark blue and Red.

The Sports' Results were announced. Some good ones, and particularly notable was that the seniors won all four of yesterday's hockey matches.
The Headmaster concluded the Assembly by telling the boys that they need to rest during half term. Some boys also need a haircut, and some shoes look very grim indeed!
On that note, but with good wishes and a smile from the Headmaster, lessons began. Mr Doggart is off to Holland with the boys on the Hockey tour. We wish them well. |
