Well done! - 3 July

Mr Barry (on the left in the picture below) gave a most interesting talk yesterday in the final Assembly. With Wimbledon very much in the news now, he reminded the boys that it is actually the AELTCC (All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club) . Well, there was an exciting boys v staff croquet match a couple of days ago. The tension, apparently, was unbearable, but staff honour was preserved with a close victory. Here they are, justifiably proud, having a celebratory glass of bubbly last night:

Burnham Beeches Half Marathon - 23 August

This annual event has started and finished at Caldicott for many years. Well, this year's began twenty minutes ago, at 1000.

Will the winner be number 787, as it was in the upper picture? An hour or so later ...

Yes, it was: Number 787, 200m from the finish, and some time ahead of second place.
Almost done

Well done

Comment: From the winner, through another website, the next day:
After my 5000m warm up on Saturday I headed out to The Beeches for a slightly longer race. It was a very nice day to not be running but as we were all there to be running that's what we did. I led from the gun and had a solo run finishing in just outside 72 mins. All in all it was a good day's training and we had the luxury of taking a dip in the school pool afterwards. Less than 4 weeks now until the Berlin marathon and the way things have been going recently I'd be pretty happy with 72 mins as a halfway split!

The Future - 24 August

Today has been a good one, as I hope the pictures below show. It was the first day of the Activity Week, a popular event, particularly with new boys. These are the first two pictures. The final one is of something which clearly illustrates the passage of Caldicott time - the rugby posts are being put up for yet another season.

Then came a break, with a cake, of personal choice, for everyone!
