Home-Start Christmas Appeal

07 December 2017

Caldicott, once again, supported the Home-Start Christmas Gift Project this year.  Parents, boys and staff generously donated many gifts for children and families who are struggling to cope, especially this time of year.

Home-Start Slough is the largest family charity in Slough and Burnham and is invaluable to many families from the local area. Home-Start is a vital lifeline for parents, giving them the confidence and skills they need to cope with their daily lives and help children to grow up in a happy and stable environment.

The school has been supporting Home-Start for the last five years and has only got bigger as the years go by.  This year Caldicott aimed to donate 250 gifts for children aged between 0 and 8 years old and could be anything from colouring books to stuffed animals.  They were placed under the Caldicott tree over the festive period ready to be delivered to the Home-Start Christmas party in early December; Father Christmas was there to give the gifts to the children and families.  Boys in the Charity Committee were lucky enough to go to the party and spend time with the families to see for themselves where the gifts go and how much joy they provide to the families.

This was a wonderful opportunity for Caldicott boys to really make a difference to families who live just down the road and a great cause that the school will support again next year.
