U12A Rugby Team tackle the North at the Barnard Castle 10-a-side Festival

24 September 2018

On Saturday 22 September the U12A team went to Barnard Castle for a rugby festival.

We started by packing our bags and got the bus to King Cross station where we got the train to Durham. We then had a short 20-minute bus journey to Barnard Castle School.

When we arrives, we unloaded our bags and waited in the common room. After that, we watched a movie and went to sleep to get some rest before the start of the Tournament on Sunday. When we woke up in the morning, after having breakfast, we changed into our kit and made our way to the pitches.

First, we played in some group matches. In the first match, we put in a good performance and this got us warmed up for the day ahead. The next three matches were harder but we put up a good fight and ended up winning all three. This meant that before lunch we were at the top of the group and were playing the winners in the other groups next. Unfortunately, we narrowly lost the next matches meaning we didn’t progress any further.

However, we all played really well and enjoyed the weekend immensely. It was fun to play against schools that we don’t normally play in fixtures.
