Sarcophagus in Art

13 February 2019

Following their study of Egyptians this year during their History lessons, the 2nd Form have created their own sarcophagus in their Art lessons this term.

The boys researched the patterns and colours used in the originals and designed their own versions using the ideas that were discussed. Firstly they drew the headdress and then moved onto the larger scale body. They are almost life size! To get the bold colours, the boys used a selection of oil pastels, gold paint and ink. This has made their pieces really stand out and resemble the originals.

They are currently being displayed in the Courtyard and Junior Corridor.
