Sustainable Living Essay Competition

10 boys from the 3rd and 4th Forms were selected to enter the Trust for Sustainable Living 2019 International Schools Essay Competition before Christmas. The theme was ‘Young people are the key to achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 15- to conserve and sustainably manage life on land.’.

Caldicott is delighted that nine boys were awarded an Honourable mention (in the top 30% of all entries).

4th Former Ben J’s entry was judged to be in the top 10% of all competition entries and he will receive an award as a Finalist.

The boys have done extremely well as the competition attracts thousands of entries from scores of schools all around the world.

The Caldicott boys mentioned are now eligible to attend the Schools’ Debates and Awards event in British Columbia, Canada from the 8 - 12 July 2019. Run by the Government of British Columbia, they will have the opportunity to take part in debates, listen to international speakers on climate change, attend workshops and meet children from all around the world and from very different countries and backgrounds. We hope some of the boys take up this opportunity to travel to Canada, represent the school, learn and have a great time.
