Our 2021/22 School Council

01 October 2021

Each year, particularly proactive Caldicott boys volunteer to become School Council members and take a lead on representing the peers in their form. Two boys from each year group make up our new Council members for the 2021/22 academic year, and they came together for their first meeting on Wednesday.

Previously, our council has been very successful in implementing changes that boys feel strongly about around the school. A new chess set, permission to play cards inside, new sports equipment, additions to boarders’ activities, and a review of the dog policy for visitors are just some of the changes the council has successfully fulfilled. The School Council is given a budget of £100 a term from Mr Banks, which they allocate following discussions and votes amongst members - these meetings are chaired by Ma’am Lovegrove and Ma’am Coventry.

This year will be no different, and in fact the council will have many more opportunities to improve school life. Boys have already put forward a number of suggestions, such as a covered seating area outside to play board games under. Representing their peers, and striving to make Caldicott even better, we are very proud of each of the members, and everyone who volunteered.
