Meet Rosa, Our New Music Administrator

08 October 2021

The Music Department, led by Mr Paget, now has a new addition. We are sure you will extend a warm Caldicott welcome to Rosa Hepburn, who is very excited to be utilising her musical background to ensure all our boys feel they have full access to an excellent music education.

Her first musical experiences and performances were within the Church. She was actively involved in the musical life of her school, St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School, performing variously as Anita in West Side Story, The Judge in Trial by Jury and the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas. Rosa was awarded a Major Scholarship by the Peter Moores Foundation with which she commenced her vocal and musical studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Some of her career highlights include: a private engagement for the Secretary of the Commonwealth Chief, Emeka Anyoaku, performing for the assembled Heads of State at the CARICOM Conference at the request of the Secretary of Culture of the government of St. Kitts & Nevis, opening and closing the show for Basement Jaxx’s first Wireless Festival headliner, and the final night of their European tour at the O2 Arena in London, and working as a guest soloist with The Laurie Holloway Trio, and with Mark Nevin of Fairground Attraction.

Rosa feels very passionately about the far-reaching benefits that music has on a young person. She shares that her great grandmother was a piano teacher who always said that music ‘enhances the personality’. The crossover that music has with other subjects is surprising, and this is especially true in the case of Music Theory, where parts of the subject connect to Maths and even Physics. At Caldicott we are proud to provide all our boys with the opportunity to receive a complete schooling in music, as part of a fulfilling all-round education.
