As the First Form have been studying the Aztecs in history this term, today they were treated to a whole day of Aztec fun! This morning they were visited by Aztec experts from ‘Mexicolore’. The speakers brought a variety of Aztec artefacts and costumes with them and the boys had the opportunity to play the Aztec instruments, dress up in the costumes and even participate in the Aztec ball game, ‘ullamaliztli.’

During the afternoon, the boys designed and made Aztec shields and headdresses and ate a delicious Aztec feast which included jelly baby sacrifices and chilli tasting, not forgetting the Aztec’s favourite, hot chocolate!

An Aztec burial.

Playing ullamaliztl.
