In the final Eton v Harrow cricket fixture, at Lords, an impressive five Old Caldicotians played!

What a day at Lords for the final Eton v Harrow cricket fixture and simply sensational that five Old Caldicotians were playing. Finn Catherwood Smith (Eton), George Weldon (Eton), Max Ferreira (Harrow), George Coomber (Captain Eton) and Will Hope (Eton).

During the 55-over contest, it was Harrow’s opening innings of 265 that proved unassailable – Max Ferreira (34). Eton managed only 179, but the sky blues have the upper hand overall, with 60 victories compared to Harrow’s 55. There have been 68 draws, as well as five years where the fixture wasn’t played due to wars and the pandemic.

While it is sad that one of the longest running sport fixtures in the world is now at an end, it is  wonderful that Caldicott has historically been associated with it, and was represented well on this momentous occasion.
