On Wednesday 10th February, St Edwards Oxford invited 3 of our 4th form boys to participate in a training session led by England 7s captain Tom Mitchell and Sam Egerton. On a crisp morning the sun came out on what was a lovely day for the boys, not only to experience the lovely grounds St Edwards has on offer but also a taste of what England 7s do in their training camps. After spending almost an hour out on the field the boys were treated to some Lucozade and biscuits followed by a Q & A sessions with the two England players. The question of the day from one of the boys was, “Why choose 7s over 15s?” It was a great question as it highlighted the difference between the two sports and that they cannot be compared but instead embraced as a whole to show the importance of work rate and skills. One thing is for sure, it will be in the memory of the three boys for a long time to come and will possibly inspire them to work hard and achieve their potentials.
