On Monday 8th June we took some of our top Caldicott athletes to the Regional Athletics Championships held at the Thames Valley Centre in Eton. It was a very exciting day of athletics, with the best young athletes from around 40 schools in the London region taking part. All of our Caldicott athletes did us proud but the following boys were especially impressive by coming first in their events, making them the regional champions and qualifying them for the National Athletics Championships held in Birmingham on 24th June:
G Weldon – U12 200m
N Harris, J Symonds, A Greenwood, G Weldon – U12 4x100m relay
R White – U13 Shot put (levelling the regional record) and the U13 100m
An extra-special mention needs to be R White who was also awarded the ‘Outstanding Young Athlete’ trophy for his achievements.
