The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has had a special place in Thomas’ heart for many years, so when he saw an opportunity to get stuck into a fundraising event that would help their cause, he jumped at the chance!

Thomas L (5th Form) has grown up with the RNLI in his life; his dad is a governor, and Thomas himself has often helped out in a charity shop dedicated to their cause, also having raised money in the past for them through bake sales. However, the Mayday Mile is the first event that Thomas has really been able to throw everything at; he must walk or run a mile every day, which he can currently be seen doing at break and lunch times around the school grounds!

Speaking to Thomas as he completed one of his walks, he shared that while he is enjoying getting active at breaktimes, he predicts the true challenge will begin when he is at home on weekends and has to find the determination to get himself out. Only having decided to take part a matter of days ago, Thomas will be fundraising throughout the month, and so if you wish to support then follow this link to his donation page…
