The 1st VII made the annual journey to The Downs school in Bristol on Saturday to defend the trophy. This tournament is always very tough with the likes of Millfield, Dulwich, Colston’s and Moulsford in contention, along with other big south-west schools that are not normally on our circuit. The boys did enough in a tough group to top the pool, although we lacked a little fluidity in tough windy conditions.
The quarter final saw a dominating win over Colston’s which meant we faced Millfield in a semi-final. This was a great performance seeing the team win 24-5 and teeing up a final against Dulwich. The boys were very good here and were totally dominant in outscoring their opponents 50-10. A fantastic day for the Caldicott 1st VII.
