One of the joys of boys returning to Caldicott at the start of term is being fortunate to hear of the experiences they’ve undertaken whilst away. It is well documented that George H (Year 8) is an impressive tennis player, but he translated that talent into results whilst staying in Florida over Easter, when we won a junior tennis tournament!

George started playing tennis when he was only four years old and has played ever since, developing his skills at Caldicott where he has played in many of the school’s tournaments throughout the years. However, this passion isn’t something he limits to his time at school and over the Easter holidays he played everyday over the three weeks, an hour a day, honing his skills and enjoying himself in the Florida sunshine!

The tennis club that George played at ran an U15s tournament, and whilst playing against older and more experienced players, he still managed to make it to the final. There he faced a 14-year-old boy who lives near the club year-round, playing tennis daily and competing in tournaments for his varsity tennis team. Facing the challenge head-on, George came out on top, bringing home the well-deserved trophy to the delight of his family all while representing Caldicott impeccably. Congratulations, George!
